Ljubo Georgiev

We continue our We Need to Talk About Infrastructure conversation series on October 26 2021 between 17:30 and 18:30 CET with Ljubo Georgiev. Ljubo Georgiev is the Director of Sofiaplan - the municipal enterprise for spatial and strategic planning of Sofia, Bulgaria. He is an architect who combines design, and activist experience. He studied architecture at IUAV in Venice (Italy) and TU Delft and has built up an international experience by and working in diverse countries and contexts: Scotland, Italy, the Netherlands and China. Between 2014 and 2016 he was director of One Architecture Week, an international festival for contemporary architecture and the built environment. Starting in 2017 for two years he led the team, entitled to coordinate the process of creating a long-term development plan for Sofia, Vision Sofia 2050.

We will focus on his experience of planning urban infrastructure through various instruments and dialogue with stakeholders with the aim to understand the role of finance and power dynamics in city infrastructure.
